NOTE: If you already have Mods installed, BACKUP them! before using the Manager, - after you made your settings, you can apply them simply by copy&paste (if you have to overwrite existing Files, the Settings (indicated with the overwritten Files) will not work properly!)
Realistically it's no more reasonable to expect GOG to discount a games listed price below what the publisher/devs have it set at then it is to expect STEAM to discount games below publisher/devs list price because it's on GOG.NOTE: I strongly recommend to download this TOOL ONLY from Gamebanana, Nexus or Steam itself (Mediafire) - just from trusted Links and my Threadposts!
These days I personally just plan to wait at least 3-5 months after release before I purchase a game unless it's free to play (so no purchase needed) or from a company I know I can count on to be both considerate to their customers and provide a DRM free version (funny how often those two go together, but that's another topic) such as cd projekt red, inxile, and the like. Which means that waiting a month or two is something they'd already be doing. Too many games have been over hyped and more and more people are starting to catch on to that and hold their money until the game is at least patched (and some user reviews from people who've played more than a handful of hours are finally posted). Most gamers I talk to and play with don't pre-order games anymore, and many won't even buy on release either. I don't see any reason to pay over 40€ again for something I already own.īut if there is no discount and no free gog version for owners of the game then it's fine to me as I just won't get a DRM free version from GOG then.
Wolfszorn: Do GOG expect then after MONTHS after release that people will pay the FULL price again? I mean most people will alrady have purchased the STEAM version on release. wonder how long it takes to download? LOL For example, the last Total War game I played was Medieval II because of Steam. I find it interesting that you often hear about lost revenue from piracy, but never hear about customers lost. We'd still have the rack of under $10 games at our local stores still. If everyone stuck to their guns, we wouldn't have Steam, Origin, Uplay. At work, the new games released on GoG has become a topic of conversation. I know quite a few people, myself included, that won't use Steam. Sure, I won't be able to play all of the "latest and greatest" immediately on release day, but I am confident that GOG is working diligently to try and make this happen, so I will try to be more patient. With that said, not every game is so great I would buy it again and I'd much rather have my games on GoG. It has features like LAN mode that is rarely implimented nowadays and I don't mind showing my support by buying twice. I don't mind buying it a second time because it is one of very few excellent games I've played in recent years. I finally turned off my autostart steam community login which is helping me break free from it. GOG has a good enough selection of games that I should be able to find something I want to play. But again, I never thought in a million years it would turn up here. And yes I am very frustrated, but I mostly blame myself for not having the patience to wait. GilesHabibula: I bought the game on Steam when it came out, never dreaming that GOG would have it soon.Īnd I love the game, so when it popped up on GOG, I bought it again, just to have the DRM-free version.
